Part (B) – The first part here
All afternoon Amy had been trying to calm down and put her thoughts in order. Her first thought was to call her mother and leave, but he had to find a good excuse. Not even twenty-four hours had passed since he came. Obviously he couldn't report all the oddities, because no one would believe her and everyone would call her silly. Nor had she quarreled with her uncle to invoke it. After weighing everything in her mind, decided to stay at home. At least while it lasted...
She thought of recording all the strange happenings in the house and see if they were connected to her uncle's strange and suspicious behavior. She took her tablet, she lay down on the sofa and started to write them first and ...worst the behavior of her uncle. Afterward, the LPG which opened by itself and after the date on the wooden log which was the same as the date of the accident. He tried to remember something else while looking at the ceiling, when the floor. Until her gaze fell under the coffee table and she saw two cards from the board game. As if by intuition, she was sure which cards they would be. Her fears were confirmed, as he collected them and saw them: The blond young man and the dark-haired miss. Again…
These are not mere coincidences she thought and obviously someone or someones was sending her a message. She opened her mouth and with a trembling voice shouted somewhat loudly, but not so much that her uncle would hear her from his room and think her mad: "Is anybody here;;;”. He got no answer. He started to get scared, not this time for spirits, but maybe he starts to lose it and instead of school in September he finds himself in a clinic.
Maybe she should stop thinking and obsessing over all these weird things. He would perhaps find some peace in Roblox, an online game she used to play on her tablet. With players controlling avatars that built houses and chatted with each other. But she had no luck with that either... Not only because her mind couldn't tear itself away from the mysteries of the house. The worst was a pair of avatars that followed her everywhere she went or did in the game. The connection with the pair of table cards was inevitable. He couldn't ignore the messages any longer. He had to do something, but what;
Her thoughts were interrupted by her uncle's sharp voice, who in the meantime had gone to the kitchen, to prepare their evening meal:
– “Emmy, you messed with the magnets on the fridge;”
– "No, I didn't go to the kitchen at all", she answered.
Out of curiosity she got up to go to the kitchen to see what her uncle meant. He was left speechless, as the magnets instead of being in alphabetical order, as usual, were mixed. And three of them formed the word 'yes'. She froze as she remembered the question she had asked herself before. And while her uncle was preaching to her about something so trivial, Amy couldn't hear anything, he just nodded. So it wasn't just her and her uncle at home. Now there is no doubt...
After hearing the crash, Amy went to the living room and went online, which became her only refuge, looking for things he once considered funny and extravagant: Spirits, ghosts, messages from beyond... Of course there were many ambiguous and incomprehensible reports, but most agreed on one thing: If there is wrongful death, abrupt and caused by malicious action, the spirits remain in the space and demand justice.
So the fire in this house was no accident; As for the spirits, apparently it is about the young couple who burned in this house 7 years ago. The cards from the game, the date on the wooden calendar, the avatars on Roblox… Everything was pointing in that direction. The question is whether they were trying to say something else, except to state their existence. He continued to search more and more strange websites and what he saw gave him chills. But a way had to be found and apparently the lot fell on a primary school girl...
Amongst all the creepy things he was reading and seeing, her gaze fell on something crystals and their effect on spirits. She unconsciously touched her locket, that from the moment she arrived at her uncle's house, she did not remove it from her neck. He had never imagined that there were so many different crystals, each with their own color, nor of course that they had an effect on the spirits. One of them had the same bright green color and that's how he got his name: Moldavite. He read the qualities it had and was left speechless: “Powerful means of communicating with spirits, produces powerful energy!”
So if there were spirits in this house, which probably existed, most likely manifested due to the existence of the crystal he wore around his neck. Of course, none of what was happening proved anything, to report it with confidence somewhere. All could be considered mere coincidences. Perhaps if the locket had a larger crystal the spirits could communicate more directly. But the locket was something subtle and she had to have all her senses on alert, so that she receives the messages that were sent to her. Amy, however, was convinced that she was not in danger from them, but only from people who were alive. Like maybe her uncle;
Her negative thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell. Her uncle would probably hear it from the kitchen and wait. Actually, she heard his hurried footsteps but just before he reached the door, a matchbox fell out of his pocket.
– "This is another thing, how they fell through the pocket;”, he muttered and bent down to catch them. He then turned his gaze to Amy and scolded her: "You didn't hear the bell;”
– “But… I'm not in my own house, I did not know…", she replied apologetically while her gaze was fixed on the box of matches.
And while he went to open the door, Amy wondered if it was a coincidence that the matches fell. Are they related to the fire and the accident and the spirits want to show her; Could it be that because they fell out of her uncle's pocket it was also a clear indication that he is involved in the alleged accident that happened years ago in this house;
Meanwhile her uncle had opened the door and was talking to an old lady. From what they said he knew it was Mrs. Daisy, the landlady, and he had come to collect the rent. As soon as he saw Amy he greeted her:
– “Ah, my little girl, you are emmy; I was very happy… I heard you arguing with her outside”, she immediately turned to her uncle in a critical tone. "To tell you both something..."
Amy also approached the door out of politeness and curiosity, while Mrs. Daisy went on:
– "I have lost my only child in a car accident... Life is short and it's not worth wasting it fighting, nor be mean to anyone".
– "How did the accident happen?;Amy asked, making her uncle annoyed for continuing the conversation.
– "Drunk young men were driving a car at night and killed my child. The killers… They were my only concern and joy in this life. But this is my fate me... And two years later, the accident with the fire in the house where you live came to finish me off. No income, without company, without love…". The old lady's eyes watered.
– "Maybe it wasn't an accident", Amy ventured out causing the old woman to look at her quizzically and her uncle to cut her off.:
– "What nonsense you are saying; You're completely dumb;”
– "Don't take away the little girl", Mrs. Daisy rushed to her defense. “You know something about the accident my little girl;”
– "Um… I mean… I mean with the gas in the kitchen and a match it would have been enough to… If it had been turned on before the gas… um…", Amy replied coyly.
– "Don't pay attention to her, they fell to me before the matches and combined it. She's obviously blown away. I'll bring the rent home to you tomorrow morning. You see we are late and we have to prepare dinner. Let's go inside" answered her uncle with determination, who was starting to lose his temper…
He left no other room, she greeted hastily and closed the door. This time her uncle said nothing, he just glared at her menacingly and disappeared into the kitchen. Amy was now really scared… She was sure that the fire in this house was not an accident. He also remembered something he had heard: That the killer always returns to the scene of the crime. Maybe now the killer simply rented the house where the couple lived; But with what motive did he kill them; Apparently he didn't have to sit down to find that either. With what she went to reveal, her life was now in danger...
She thought of opening the door and leaving the house… But in such a desolate area where could a little girl go at night; Should he seek shelter from Mrs. Daisy?, who lived a little further; But with what excuse would he knock on the door of a strange woman; He might have thought her delusional, as her uncle described her and she would be right. She had nothing tangible to justify her phobias. Nor had anything extraordinary happened to require her parents to remove her from the spirit house at such a time, as he described it.
At one point the kitchen door opened and her uncle called to Amy to go into the kitchen to eat. He went to the bathroom himself and an idea then came to Amy in a flash. He flew silently to the kitchen, open the drawer, she took a knife and ran to arrange it under her pillow. She placed it so that it wouldn't stick out and draw her uncle's attention. Then she returned to the kitchen and sat at the table waiting for her uncle to eat. During the entire dinner they did not exchange a word, while Amy didn't even dare to glance at him...
And when it was time to sleep, she was so overexcited that she couldn't close her eyes. He also got used to the dark and could distinguish all the furniture in the room. He was observing them, he was looking at the lamp sometimes, when the nightstand but as much as he thought, she could not find a solution for the issue that concerned her. Although he took it for granted that with the first grace, she would open the door and run away... She remembered the route to the main road, every now and then a passer-by would pick her up from there. She had decided that she would tell her parents everything, even if they didn't believe her, as long as it would be safe. Her thoughts calmed her down a bit and she began to half close her eyes.
Suddenly through her half-closed eyes, she saw a shadow approaching her. At first she thought it was her imagination or that she fell asleep and was seeing it in her sleep. But she quickly realized that it was actually happening and felt her blood run cold. But she kept her cool and kept her eyes half open, while in her mind she planned the fastest movement she would have to make to grab the knife she had hidden under her pillow.
The shadow stopped two meters from Amy, he took a pillow from the adjacent armchair, he picked it up and with silent steps began to approach her. She moved the pillow so close that she couldn't see the shadow anymore but she could and opened her eyes wide without being noticed. With a lightning movement of her right hand, he pulls the knife from under the pillow and thrusts it into his thigh. A scream of pain was heard and the shadow collapsed to the ground… Amy jumps off the bed and walks away, turning on the light…
A human figure in black pants and a blouse, wearing a black hoodie, writhing in pain on the floor. While a pool of blood has begun to form around the stab wound. But she was nothing like her uncle's body type. This lifted her spirits and she let out a cry for help. Her uncle quickly ran up the stairs and pounced on the would-be assassin. She stopped him relatively easily and yelled for Amy to take off his hood. The girl regained her courage, he approached and with one movement takes off the black hood. Almost simultaneously, they both let out a surprised voice:
– “Mrs. Daisy!!!”
One week later, Amy was at home reading an online newspaper report on the case on her tablet. Journalists called her "the lady with the matches", paraphrasing the title of the well-known short story. Mrs. Daisy, having lost her child to drunk drivers she had been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic.
Later, when he rented the house to the couple, she saw in the faces of the boy and the girl the murderers of her child. And this was happening, because according to her, but also from some traffic records, every night they came back drunk driving home. It didn't take long for her to be completely taken aback... She opened the door with the reverse key when the couple was gone, stuck a match to the kitchen door and turned on the gas! Amy's statement that it wasn't an accident and her already shaken mental state, they armed her hand a second time. Not with matches, but with a pillow…
Last week, every day some reporter wanted to talk to Amy, but who never told about the signs the spirits were showing her. In her statement to the police she said that she saw it in her dream that it was a crime. Fortunately for the young girl, escape the worst by uncovering the crime with the help of the spirits. Which, according to what he had read, they didn't leave, waiting for vindication and creating negative psychological effects on her uncle who lived there. But Amy just showed up at the house, who had the locket with the Moldavite, they could and did make their presence felt. They tried to show her who they are and how they were murdered. The only thing they didn't show her was who the killer was. Or maybe they revealed it and she didn't realize it herself;
my dear, your story could very well be a successful script for a Hollywood thriller. Kudos also to the readers who came up with his solution “Gordian bond”.
Σας ευχαριστώ πολύ για τα καλά σας λόγια!!
Interesting story !!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for your reading!!
He had revealed it through the bottle of margarita cocktail that had fallen from the fridge in the first part, as the landlady's name is Daisy(= daisy)
Congratulations on finding it!!!
